FOB PLUNKET NURSES. (Br Telo^rapb.—Bpecial OorrcepondnnM Wannanul, May 22, A handsome bequest for tho benefit of tho Plunket nurses and children for whom they work has been mado by tho lato Mr. J. T. Stewart. C.E., who died about a month ago, Koinarking in his will that ho considers tho saving and wellboing of children of early years ono of the most important problems of tho age, ho leaves his large house and grounds (the latter of which aro not to bo further built upon) as a residence for tho l'lunket nurses and as many children under five years of age as can bo accommodated. Mrs. Stewart is to have a lifo interest in the property; which, after her death, is to bo vested in tho Mayor and Council of Wanganui for tho purposes named.
