Sir Edward Grey (Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs) had, through him, sent a message to tho meeting regarding the general outlook.

"Although tho causes working for war are still not dead," continued Mr. Pease, "I am conscious of greater causes working for peaco and strengthening the cause of peace."
