.PARADE OF TERRITORIALS,

Tuesday, June-3, is the Kings fortyeighth birthday. In honour of tho occasion there will bo a . parade of the Territorials and Senior Cadets of Wellington, Petone, and tho Hutt.most possibly at Newtown Pnrlc. Detailed orders will shortly be issued by Colonel _ Chaytor (Officer Commanding the District). In the meantime Colonel G. P. C. Campbell is making arrangements to hold a rehearsal parade on Saturday, May 31. _ In order that the parade will inconvenience people as little as possible, the Officer Commanding tho District has decided to hold the parade early in the forenoon, . but the exact hour has not yet been fixed. The parade is the only strictly ceremonial one of tho year, and 's Md all over the Empire in honour of his Majesty. TERRITORIAL ARRANGEMENTS. With reference to tho Territorial parade on the King's Birthday, June 3, Colonel li. W. C. Chaytor, commanding Wellington military district, issues tho f< Mowing orders from district headquarters, Pall/sprston North:— The troops at all local centres will parade oil June 3, in honour of tho birthday of his Majesty tho King, and at those local centres whore there are insufficient troops to hold h .review, they will, co-operate witli any celebrations coiiducted by local authorities. The parades are to be held at 9 a.m. or 9.50 a.m., ns convenient, in order that men may away early, and avail themselves of tho holiday, and will lie counted .a3 a whole-day parade. A Royal salute of twenty-one guns will bo fired at Wellington. Arrangements are being inado ty the Coast 1 Defence Commissioner (Colonel G. F. C. Campbell) for a rehearsal- ppis.de on Saturday, May . 31. It'is pointed out that this is the only strictly ceremonial parade of the year, and the occasion for \t hardly requires comment.
