: A meeting of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was held yesterday afternoon, Mr. J. S. Jameson presiding. . A resolution was affirmed, expressing the sympathy of the society with the president (Mr. R. H. Webb) in his recent family bereavement. The following donations were acknowledged .—Jlrs. A. E. It was derided to institute proceedings against a carrying company for working a horse said to be painfully lame in both fore legs.
