: A meeting of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was held yesterday afternoon, Mr. J. S. Jameson presiding. . A resolution was affirmed, expressing the sympathy of the society with the president (Mr. R. H. Webb) in his recent family bereavement. The following donations were acknowledged .—Jlrs. A. E. Consideration of the report of the conference proceedings was deferred until next meeting.
It was derided to institute proceedings against a carrying company for working a horse said to be painfully lame in both fore legs.
