A special sale of 70 odd horee3, on account of Mr. J. E. M'Donald, Levin, was lield at Palmeraton North on Saturday by Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd. On Friday, May 9, at Woiwakailio yards, J[r. Newton, King had a fair entry of stock. Mixed wcaners made from £1 Bs. to £2 lie.; empty 18-month heifers, up to £3 Us. 6a.; 20-month heifers in calf, £3 14s to £4 135.; small 18-month steers, ±2 10s ■ two and a half-year forward bullocks, £6 55.; bulls. £2 7s. to £3 155.; store cows, £2 7s. to £3 ICS.; forward cows, £4 7s. 6d. to £4 16a.; fat cows, £5 to £6 153.; dairy cows, up to £7 10s.: springing heifers, £5 Vs. *6d. to £6 2s. 6d.;J.m. ewes, 6s. 9d.; mixed sheep (fat), 12s. 4d. On Monday, May 12, in the Toko yards, there was only a 6mnll entry, which sold as follows:— Store cows, £1 to £3 55.; small 18-month steers, £3; weaners, £1 3s. to £1 65.; fat cows, £6 103.; in-calf heifers, £4 10s. to £6 55.; lamba, 9s. lOd. At Stratford yards on Hay 13, owing to the very rough weather, there waa only a small entry with a fair attendance of the public.
