WHEN IS REBELLION DISGRACEFUL? London, May 18. The case against tho Suffragettes charged with smashing tho windows of the house occupied by Mr'. John Dillon, Nationalist M.P., in Dublin, is being heard. Mr. Dillon, giving evidence, said ho had heard tho noise of his windows being smashed, but had not troubled to ascertain the cause. One of the prisoners asked whether Mr. Dillon had signed the petition praying that Dr. (now Sir Lcander) Jameson be given full political rights after his release fiom prison at the conclusion of his sentence for the part he took in the raid into tho Transvaal in 1895-90. Mr. Dillon replied in the affirmative. Asked whether lie approved of Dr. Jameson's act, ho replied that rebellion with militancy was disgraceful, but he did not consider rebellion disgraceful. [Mr. John Dillon was surrounded a few days ago by Suffrafcettcs in a street in Dublin. He-declared that ho would vote against them every lime.
