BOYS' INSTITUTE.
Mr. W. Bennett, director of the Boys' institute, writes:—
"An effort is being made to form an Old Boys' Association, and for this purpose a meeting is to be lield on May 27, to which all old bovs are invited. Such an association would be a means of keoping old members in touch with the Institute, and of providing assistants for the different branches of the work. Gradually a new schema is being introduced into the Institute activities, sfl that wellorganised clubs and classes may be held every evening, and thus provido doliiiito occupation for boys during the time they are present. The music classes to' prepare boys for the drum and fife band will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings. If sufficient boys come forward, a class in commercial subjects will also be established a competent instructor having volunteered to take up this work. Parents 'interested in the Institute are invited to attend a meeting of parents in the director's office' on Tuesday evening next. It is felt that much good would result if parents were brought more into_ contact with an organisation which claims such a largo share of the attention of their hoys."
