The, Hon. W. Fraser has modified tho itinerary of tho visit which ho is to pay this week to flip Wairarapa. Instead of going to Masferton on Wednesday ho will leave l>y tho early train on that dny for Palriatim, ivlicjv iio will transact business a~ul attend n Fanners' Union meeting in (he evening. On the following day Mr. Fraser will visit Pongaroa and afterwards proceed to likctalmna and Masterton. Tho Minister expects to return to Wellington on .Saturday. Mr. John Duthie, accompanied by his granddaughter, Miss Millar, loaves Wellington to-day for Napier. The election of a master plumbers' representative 011 tho Plumbers' Hegislration Board lias resulted ill the election of Mr. Alex. Burt, jun. Mr. Burt was the nominee of the Christchurch Association. Thos. Bnllinger (Gisborne), Thos. Courtenay (Auckland), J. S. Douglas (Dunedin), and Chas. Martin (Wellington) also contested tho election. —Press Association. The election of a member to represent tho Crown tenants of tho Wellington Land District upon the Land Board is now 111 progress. Tile candidates standing lire Messrs. 11. T. Ellingham (sitting member) and T. 0. Haycock. Tho voting papors aro being snnt in by post to the rcturning officer, Mr. T. Brodrick, Comiiiissionor of Crown Lands in the \\ ellington District. The poll closes on Juno 4, and tho papers will be counted on the following day. Tho representative of tho Crown tenants is elected for a term of threo years. Tho other members of the board are tho Commissioner of Crown Lands, who is chairman ex-officio, and three Government nominees. The term of ono of tho nominated members, Mr. B. A- Dawson, expires next month. The other two r.cminatcd members, Messrs. W. M Lellaii, and Jas, Gcnrgelti, hold office until May, 1914. Tho Crown tenants have tho right to npnoint scrutineers to watch tho counting of tho votes in tho election of their representative, but those officials havo not yet been appointed. ' Mr. W. C. Kensington, fotmerly UnderSecretary for Lands, has left on a visit to Queensland and Kew South wales. Major J. E. Hume, R.N.Z.A., ivlio was been travelling round' on 11.M.5. Row Zealand for the past fortnight, has returned to headquarters.

Mr. Horace Hunt, the Wellington pianist, who is a native of Auckland, gave a. Xho members of tlio Allen Doono Comedy Comiinny, arrived from the south on Saturdav, and left for Nelson und the West Coast early in the afternoon. Mr. Doono intends to play a weeks return visit to Wellington next month. Mr. F. Hutton, clerk of the court at Balclutlin, -has been transferred to Wellington. . Mr. R, D. Kelly, lately officer in charge of tho Wellington Post OfliCD Savings Bank, is at present Acting-Chief Postmaster here, vico Mr. A. P. Drydon, who, i with Mr. T. N. Brodrick (Crown Lands 1 Commissioner) and Mr. C. A. Piper (Rail--1 way Department) is acting on tho Wanganui River Commission. So far 110 definite appointment has been made in succession to Mr. D. C. Gannaway, who recently retired from tho position of assistantpostmaster. Tho funeral of tho late Mr. Res Desmond C'oker, who met with his death accidentally in tho Bank of New South AValcs on Friday morning, took .place yesterday afternoon. Wellington Terrace was lined with peoplo for a considerable distance when tho cortege moved away from the residence of Mr. Thomas Bush (undo of the deceased). As ho was a corporal of the D Company (Uvil Service) of the Fifth Regiment (infantry), the deceased was accorded a military funeral. Both escort and firing party were provided by members of tho D Company, under Captain H. Hawthorne, whilst tnc' coffin, shrouded in tho Union Jack, was borno on ft gun-carriage, drawn by seven horses. Tho Fifth Reg.iment Band (under Bandmaster M'Cornish) was also 111 attendance. Chaplain-Major W. bhiror conducted the service in the house and at iho graveside. Tho chief mourners were: Messrs. Anthony C'oker, -tho dedcceased's eldest brother, Mr. 1 lionins Bu<;h. of Wellington, and Mr. W. Nathan, of Pahiatua (uncles), and Messrs. George, Sidney, and Charles Bash (cousins). There were also present a large nunibor of tho friends of tho deceased, and Jus Wellington relatives, as well as many members of the Wellington Fcotbnll Club, of which the unfortunato young man was a member. Mr. J. Ames, city valuer, has been absent from his office for the past few days owing to indisposition, tho result of car trouble. _
