HUTT AND PETONE NEWS. (From Our Special Correspondent.)
0 Yesterday afternoon Mr. Barg'h, workshops manager at Pctone, while crossing over some heavy pieces of iron, had his foot crushed. After being medically attended to, ho was conveyed to .his home. Tho ,Hutt branch of the Mannwatu Hunt Club will hold a "meet" at Bellcvue Gardens nest Saturday and Monday. Pupils anil instructors at. the Petono Technical School held an enjoyable "social" last evening, which was attended by a large number of guests. Dancing, interspersed with musical and vocal items, made up the programme. The monthly meeting of the Petono .Main School Committee was held last evening. The headmaster reported that the number on last month was 72.1 in the primary department, and 55 in tho secondary department. The number admitted during the month was.—Primary lti; withdrawn: primary, 1G; secondary, The average attendance was 01!) for Iho primary department, and 51 for the secondary' deparfment. The appointment of a caretaker was held over.
