Dr. Clune, Bishop of Perth, and formerly Superior of tho Redemptorists in New Zealand. Dr. Clune is the first Briton who has. seen his Holiness since the latter's recent illness. The Pope expressed gr.;at interest in Australia, and congratulated the Bishop on the spread of Catholicism in Australia, where there was true liU.rty and progress.
