OPERA HOUSE. "The Queen of the Redskins" was played by the. Harlow Dramatic Company before an appreciative audience at the Opera House Inst evening. The final performance of this picturesque melodrama will be given this evening. Tomorrow evening the company will stago its last chaugo of bill for the present season, when Frederick Melville's successful London drama, "Her Forbidden lUarriage," will be produced. This production will-inaugurate tho last three nights ot the company's present season in Wellington. Speaking of the production in London, the "Morning Standard" said: — " 'Her Forbidden Marriage' goes through the fullest gamut of the various emotions, linked with a running accompaniment ot tragedy, comedy, and farce." The full strength of the company will take part in tho production, which, when lately produced ill Sydney and Melbourne, van for seven weeks in'each city, with crowded houses. Tho sccnic effects have been painted from actual photographs of tno localities where the action of 'the picco takes place. The'box plan- is now on view at the Dresden. THEATRE ROYAL. Thero can bo no complaint regarding the Variety or quality' of tho entertainment riven this week at, tho Theatro I'oyal by tho Fulicr-Brcinuui Company. tho Serenaders provide a merry musical first ; part, dignified by some very excellent concerted vocalism. " In tho second half Do Lea and Orma provide a'-higlily ludicrous comedy turn. The Excellns, Percy Halton, Aliss Lillian Moore, tho Harmonious Huxhams, Ilall Rain?, and others supply *a wealth of vaudeville acts well up to tho standard set by th 6 management during recent months. ; ' . HTS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. "Tim Beetle's Deception" is a wonderful esainplo of the rcsourco of the modern moving-picture manufacturer. How tho insects aro mads to act such scenes as aro depicted is beyond comprehension, but tliey'assuredly do present a coherent series of incidents which make up an intelligible story. Other pictures of aro Poverty's Thrall," "Fnte," and "Down tin the Rio Grande." "POLITE VAUDEVILLE." "Becbe's Polite Vaudeville Company" Will open a Wellington season at the Opera House on Monday next. The members of tin- company include - Messrs. Rockley", White,' Snilkcr, and Fairbank, minstrel "corner-men," who introduce lively songs, dance?, and jokes; the Bartictfe, who specialise in music punctuated with pantomime comedy, and Kiplderson, billed as an actor who has periecoed an act described as a "one-man music-hall," which compi'iseis a series of quick changes, facial impersonations, chiipeaugraphy, and ventriloquism. The acrobatic Art-cms aro English performers who are stated to give much grace and dexterity to an acrobatic 'turn. licckleyvsinging and dancing sketch artists, claim to be the originators of every item in their extensive repertoire. Acknowledgment is made of tho' very excellent music provided by Mr. fTruda's fino orchestra. Tho final screening of tho present pro/■gramme at the Empress Theatre is nn•jiounced for to-day and to-night. Foremost, lis tlio A.B. Company's drama "A Welcome Intruder." In this instance the intruder is a tiiiy motherless boy, who is found by a spinster, and when the child's father appears she tearfully hands tho hoy over to his yarcut. As (no child pinco for his new friend, Iho father proposes marniage to her, and is accepted. : "Swimming the Bristol Channel" provides a. capital view or W. W. Francis, tho world's champion cripple athlete, swim- •' ming across from Newport to Penarth." SIIORTTS' THEATRE. > 'A picture adaptation of Ottida's fine Jiovel, "Under Two Flags," is the star attraction at Sho.rtts' Theatre at present. As a special attraction the management of the theatre arc putting on W. S. Percy's picture, "All For Gold," at II p.m. to-da.v. Messrs. Herbert Bentley and Hilliard Vox, of the' Marlon- Dramatic Company, at present playing at the Opera House, acted the principal parts la thia picture.
