(From Our Special Correspondent.) Maslorlon, May 13. At a meeting of (lie Masterton Count $ Council to-day, it iv.-js <looi«li>tl to endorse the proposal of the Akitio County Council asking for legislation to enable' county councils to establish joint accident: insurance funds. The council did not approve of the suggestion of (he Woodville County Council for the imposition of a motor-car tax. The proposal of Councillor Cross to increase the wages of surfacemen in the employ of the council from Bs. Cd. to 9s. per- day negatived. A t'our-roomed house, owned bv Mrs. Mtvrley, and occupied by Mr. Kobort M'Gregor. was gutted by fir« to-aizht. Onlv a seeing machine was saved. Th« cause of the fire is unknown. The build, ing was insured in the Norwich Union office, but for wlmt sum is not ascertainable,
