(From Our Special Oorrcsjonflent.) ; $ The scholars attending Petone West School wero yesterday accorded a benefit entertainment, which took tho form of .v motion-picture show, given by tho proprietor of the Mascotte Pictures. A large number attended, and tho proceeds will go to supplement tho school sports' fund. Mr. 11. M'Kcnzie, a member of the Taita School Committee, is promoting a "social," with a view to accumulatiag funds for tho school library. Tho social will bo held in Welch's Hall next AVedne.'doy.
Members and friends of the Petone exNavals Association spent an enjoyable evening at St. Augustine's Hall last night. There was a largo attendance. The first part of tho evening was dovoted to cards, and after supper dancing wns indulged in.
