A letter was received from tho Now Zealand Hockey Association in regard to a circular (on shield matters) sont by tlio Wellington Association to tho various affiliated associations. The New 7/ealand body expressed disapproval of circulars being sent to affiliated associations without first being submitted for approval. Thoso present at tho meeting objected to the Now Zealand Association seoking to set up a system of censorship. On 'tho, motion of Mr. A. A. Bennett it was decided: "That a respectful letter be sen't to the Now Zealancf Association asking under what rule they claim this right of censorship, and pointing out 'the disadvantages the affiliated associations would be under if such a censorship would bo proved." It was generally agreed that tho circulars sent out by the association had had a very beneficial effect and had awakened interest in tho sport. Tlio question of corner flago was raised, and it wns resolved to supply these for eight grounds at Karori and for every city reserve where thero was a caretakei. A resolution was carried fixing the offices of the club at Mr, Bennett's office, Baker's Buildings. , _ , , A letter from tho Nelson Hockey Association asked if a date could be allotted for a shield match with Nelson, but it was considered unnecessary to deal with the -matter, as it is understood that 'the Nelson Association are not going on with tile shield challenge. A discussion in regard to the Hutt grounds ensued, and it was decided before taking any definite action that the chairman and Mr. Marshall should make a further inspection of the locality and report on the condition of t,ho various grounds. I A protest was entered by tho Wellington Hockey Club's junior team against the win of ICarori iu tho match played last Saturday (ivnrori -1 goals v. Wellington.'3). Tho ground of tho protest wns: "That tho game, in the nbsence of tho official referee, was controlled by one member of ono team,' instead of a meml«r of each team acting in his own half. See Rule 2." In refevenco to the same matter, the ICarori Club wrote asking to bo represented at tho meeting of.tho association at which tho protest would bo considered. It was deemed advisablo to hold over consideration of the matter until tho next meeting, and in the meantime, the secretary will summon the witnesses required. A communication from tho secretary of tho Wednesday Hockey Association was received, inquiring what would be the terms on winch the Karori grounds could be had on King's Birthday for tho purposes of holding a six-a-sido tournament. Mr. Manning explained that tho move was, made in tho interests of tho sport, as there had been- hitherto no hockey in Wellington on this holiday. Subject to the Borough Council's approval, it was decided to grant tho Wednesday Association the uso of Karori I'ark free of charge for the date mentioned, on condition that no charge is made for admission. Complaint wa9 made about insufficient dressing accommodation at Ivarori Park, it being pointed out that about 180 players and referees have tho uso of one small room. On the suggestion of the chairman, it was decided to communicate with tho Borough Council regarding this matter.' Tho question of whether or not a second found should be played in the junior and third-class competitions is to be decided at a later date.
