RUGBY FOOTBALL. THE MATCHES TO-DAY. The principal watches this afternoon aro thoso between Melroso and Petone, and Victoria- College and Wellington, at Athletic Park, and Poirelce versus Athletic at Petone. Tlio Petone-Melrose game is expected to provide a very keen contest. Both teams have hem showing good form thus far, -and, as in past seasons, thero is keen interest by the supporters of the respective teams. Victoria College liavo bc<on pleasing their supporters by this season's showing, hence their gamo against Wellington will attract considerable attention.
