Tho estimated population of tho Dominion on March 31 (exclusive of Maoris) was 1,061,748. Tho census of 1911 gavo tho Maori population as 49,844, and tho population of the Cook and other Pacific Islands attached to the Dominion as-*2,598, giving a total population of 1,124,150.
