All aro over 17 years o! age, and some are over 70. Although tlie-'o military exercises are talciiiß- place at night time, tliev are ljein? conducted without the least attempt at anything iu the way ol' secrecy. Seventy per cent of the volunteers are armed with rifles, and ex-army men aro engaged in drilling the forces. Itoutc inareliing and sisnalliim are practised regularly. Tlio National Anthem and Hole Britannia are suiir at tho close of each evening's drill—"Sydney Sun."
