One of these notices of motion has reference to a boat haven at Petone, and reada as follows:—"That a report bo obtained from the Harbour Board engineer in conjunction with Mr. Cowie, regarding the cost of a doublo : row of pipes, boarded (as a breakwater, for a' distanco of 100 ft. in a westerly direction' from tho present wharf, to give at least Gft. of depth at low water for a distance of 20ft. landwards. for the purpose of a boat harbour for Petone. Also, that the Petono Borough Council guarantee the Wellington Harbour Board interest up to *£1000 at 5 per cent, for the purpose of financing Sam©; further, that the Town Clerk be Instructed to advertise for users of tho poat harbour at a rental to bo agreed iipon by the council."
