METHOD OF APPOINTMENT. At the conclusion of the Mayoral insanitation ceremony yesterday, the Mayor (Mr I P Luke) announced tliat 85 applications' had been received for the position of Citv Organist, and of these no fewer llnu (i'» were from abroad. Iho intention wii« he said, that the whole of the applications would cohu\ before the full council before being referred to a committee.
