CARTERTON NEWS.
During the month of April 8 births, 2 deatas, itnil 1 marriago were registered la Carterton. There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Wairarapa P. and A. Society, ilr. E. Eagle, junr., presiding. The report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. A rote of sympathy with Mr. G. W. Heller, in his illness, was car-' ried unanimously. The election of officers resulted: —President, Mr. E. Eaglq junr.; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. Henry Booth and A. Clark; treasurer, Mr. G. W. Deller; auditor, Mr. J. Moncrieff j general coramitteo, Messrs. W. W. Bicknell, T. V. Caverill, C. Campbell, J. W. Card, C. E. Cundy, A. C. Feast, J. C. Harp, J. Monoghan, H. Morrison, C. Morgan, J. G. M'Donald, J. G. Oatos, C. L. Heynolds, W. H. Ivobieson, A. G. Tyer, F, J. White (Greytown), and G. E. Yule. It was unanimously resolved that a remit be sent to the Agricultural Conference that the Department be approached regarding the provision of insufficient insulated trucks for the conveyance of cheese and butter by rail. It was decided that (ho first meeting of the new committeo be held on May IG. Votes of thanks were accorded the retiring officers.
