RIFLE SHOOTING.
[ HARDWARE MEN'S EEUNION. The annual hardware reunion was held at the Masonic Hall, on Friday, and despite the weather,' was well attended. Mr. E. Wakelin, of Stewart and Co.,'occupied' the chair, and others present w®re ■ Messrs. W. Bridson (Briscoe and Co.), W. 6. Duthie (J. Duthie and Co.), C. A. Briggs, and J. F. Mills (E. W. Mills and Co., Ltd.), and C. C; Odlin (C. and A. Odlin Co.). . The Hardware Kifle Cup was presented to E. W. Mills and C'o.'s team, who, by their third victory, have now won tho trophy outright. The rifle presented by Messrs. 'Pieper . and Co., and 'fired for under a sealed handicap, was presented to Mr. Noble, of Odlin and' Co., who shot exceedingly well in the Hardware Cup Match. The chairman remarked that it was very satisfactory to the donors of the cup to see the steady improvement made in the scoring,.and also the fine spirit in which the matches Were contested.. It was announced (amidst applause) that another cup would be presented to carry on the yearly competitions. ■ Stress was laid by the speakers on the fact that in a country like New Zealand every man should be able to handle the riile and shoot straight. Tho following . toasts were honoured: "The King," "Donors of the Cup," "Winning Team," "losing Teams,' "Eange Officers and Scorers," "Ladies," and "Press." An enjoyablo programme was provided, the following giving itepis: Messrs. Henderson, Northcote, i Cummins, M'lnnes, Harper, Cos, and 1 Allen, ■
