Mr. and Jlrs. I\ W. Venn, of Shannon, have decided to leave Wellington by tho lonic on May 15 for n irip to England. Pigeons are said to be fairly plentiful on tho Tarania Ranges, but, judging by tho amount of pigeon-feathers to be found, it is evident that some illegal shooting has been carried on. , Mr. IT. Greig, well-known in Pailcaknriki and other parts of this district, is at present touring Jtaly, Germany, and Switzerland. Mrs. Greig is travelling with him.
