NO-LICENSE LEAGUE.
REMITS TO CONVENTION. Tho Wellington Temporanoo Organisations held a meeting on Friday evening for the purpose of considering remits and electing representatives for the forthcoming annual convention to bo held in, Christehureh during next month. Considering the unfavourable state of the weather a large number of representatives were present. Mr. li. G. Denton was the presiding officer. The following remits were approved as emanating from Wellington, and are to bo .submitted for consideration:— "That tho attention of the conference be drawn to the parsimonious attitude generally adopted by tlio press of the four chief cities respecting correspondence dealing with the No-license movement."
".That No-license Leagues bo urged to securo at least 101)0 voters in each electorate to pledge themselves regardless of party not to vote for any Parliamentary candidate who will not pledge himself to do his utmost to repeal the law which, requires a three-fifths vote to aliolish licenses. which is really a 10 per cent, handicap." Tho following delegates wero elected to represent; the Wellington organisations:— Mosdamos Holder Poryman (.lohnsonville), lfev. Potter, Messrs. If. G. Denton, It. Nimmo, .1. Pearco (I'ahautanui), nonre, lielyer, G. Pethei'ick, K. Kennedy, and A. K. Atkinson.
