IMPORTED MOTOR-CARS.
THE TOTAL GROWING FAST. (Ilr Telegraph,—Special Correspondent.) Auckland, May 3. The number of motor-ears imported by New Zealand is growing rapidly. Tho steamers Kia Ora and Whakatane, which arrived this week, brought between them approximately 220 cars for Auckland and Wellington. The majority of theso ara light, "runabouts," but n number of larger .nnd more expensive ears are included. The motors arc almost all American. These shipments are considered to be almo.st exceptional, and are remarkable in that the demand for motors naturally falls off during llio winter months. It is stated by the firm for whom lliev are destined that tlisy ow practically all to order, and the same firm further stales that, during thepJist six months, it has placed ICO cars between Auckland and Gisbornc.
