FOSTERING CLOSER RELATIONS. AMONG STATESMEN. Bj Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, April 30. At tho annual meeting of the Empire Parliamentary Association, the Speaker of the House of Commons (tho Right Hon. J. W. Lowther) presided. Mr. Bonar Law, leader of the Opposition, and Lord Emmott, Under-Secretary of State for tho Colonies, paid tributes to tho excellent work in regard (o the fostering of closer relations by overseas statesmen. Mr. Lowther moved: "That the cxccutivo endeavour to arrange for twenty members of Parliament to.accept the invitation to visit Australia this year." Mr. Balfour, in seconding tho motion, said the invitation was couclusivo proof of tho value of tho association. They should by' delegation mako themselves acquainted with the feelings and aspirations of those carrying out Empire work overseas, and also carry to them in concreto form Britain's goodwill and sympathy. Tho motion was carried.
