The polling at l'ctone was very slow during the day, but it brisked up as the afternoon wore on, and thcro was a steady rush recorded between 5 p.nt. aud / p.m. The results were as follow:— MAYOR. KARORI, The election of a Mayor did not trouble tlio Karori electors yesterday, Mr. Chas. Cathio having been returnod for a third term without opposition. Considerable interest, however, was manifested in the election, of councillors, twelve candidates offering themselves for' tho nine seats. Polling was fairly brisk, but hardly heavy enough to warrant the result being delayed until 9.30 p.m., two and a half hours after the closing of tho poll. The delay was caused by tho failure of ono of the booths to send in its official return immediately it was ready. The" result of the polling was as under: MAYOR. Charles Cathie, unopposed. COUNCIL.
