ON FOOTBALL MATCHES. By Tclcgrfwh—Press Association— Oosyrietl (Rcc. May 1, 0.23 a.m.) Melbourne, April 30. Systematic betting on football matches is being introduced in Victoria. Circulars nro issued giving directions to persons wishing to bet. The odds laid range from three to one to those selecting two winning teams, playing oft' tlieir own grounds, to a hundred to one to those selecting the winners of two home matches, five away matches, and one drawn game in the one afternoon.

The name of the promoter of tho scheme has not been disclosed, but it is understood that this betting system was launched in Sydney. Certain people in Melbourno have been asked to become agents hero for it.
