Mrs. J. R. Williams (Auckland) is visiting her mother, Mrs. Douglas, in Wanganui.
The Governor and tho Countess of Liverpool havo signified their intention of being present at the citizens' ball, to bo held on Thursday in Auckland, in honour of tho naval visitors, together with their staff. The Prime Minister and Mrs. anil Miss Massey have accepted invitations to the function, and the Hon. H. D. 801 l and Mrs. Bell, together with the Misses Bell, will also be present. It is expected that in addition to Captain Halsey, about '10 of the officers of the battleship will attend the ball. Mr. and Mrs. Archer (Masterton) aro visiting Wellington and are staying at tho Einpiro Hotel. Mrs. Miles has returned to Wellington from her visit to Mastertoh. Tho Rev.' Mr. Hansell, Mrs. Hansel], nnd children arrived in Wellington from Christchureli yesterday. Mrs. Kei;.. Duncan is leaving for England by tlio Rotorua. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Russell, formerly of Te Matai, Palmerston North, who have recently returned to the Dominion after a five years' absence, leave Auckland on May 9 for Great Britain. They will probably bo away for two years. Mrs. Johnston returned to Nelson by the I'atceui on Monday from a visit to Wellington, Miss N. M'Dougall (Martinborough), who lias buen spending a few days with Mrs. Butts, leaves to-day for Auckland.
