A meeting of the S.P.C.A. was held last evening, about a dozen members be'ng present. Mr. li. H. Webb was in the chair. Several cases of alleged cruelty were reported, an dtlie inspector was instructed to take action. A cheque for ,£lO was-received from Mrs. A. Atkins, Kelburne, and was acknowledged with thanks. Tho chairman and inspector were appointed to represent the society at tho .conferenco which is to be held in Wellington next week.
