The election of tho school committee at N'ormandalo resulted as under Messrs. Adams (chairman), Knight (secretary), Arnold, Barnes, and Hartley. WORSEK BAT. At the meeting of Worser Bay householders, the following resolution was curried:—"That this meeting of householders congratulate the headmaster (Mr. Itowntree) ou the high standard of efficiency reached by this school, and wish to place on record their unqualified appreciation of his services." Somo 23 householders attended the annual meeting for the election of a school committee at Otaki on Monday night. The following were elected Messrs. C. L. Hartmunn, L. St. George, J. Bills, W. Keegan, C. Williams, M. Ayre, and A. Anderson. At a subsequent meeting Jlr. Williams wns elected chairman, and Mr. Ayre, secretary. . The biilance-sheet submitted showed a credit cf 18s. 2d., while the report was considered very satisfactory. It was decided that it be a recommendation to alter tho school hours from 9 n.lll. to II p.m., instead of 9.30 to 3.110 p.m., as at present. SHANNON. 4 Then* was a fair attendance at the school 011 Monday, when the annual meeting of householders was held. Jlr. h. Law presided. The following were elected to the committee for the ensuing year:— Messrs. J. Richardson, AV. Law, J. Ann, F Linscll, A. Mcrwood, H..Logau, and C. F. Exall. Mr. Richardson was reelected chairman, and. Mr. Exall. was elected secretary. OTHER SCHOOL DISTRICTS. ELECTED THEMSEIA'ES. Whangarei, April 2D. At Maungakaramca last night a meeting of householders refused to elect a school committee as a protest against tlie action of tho Education Board with regard to the appointment of tcaclicrs. Frankton householders refused last evening to elect a school committee, and.left the schoolhouso in a body as a protest against the action of tho Auckland Education Board in so arranging the boundaries that half tho township, including the main street, is taken into.
