Acland, Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, speaking at Nottingham, referred to the question of tho extension of the franchise to women. He condemned militancy as pure insanity. Suffragettes interrupted him throughout, and many were ejected. Suffragettes were attempting to burn the stands of the Preston North End Association Football Club, when the police arrived. The women fled, abandoning portmanteaux and tins of paraffin. YOUTHS RETALIATE. (Ree. April 28, 10.55 p.m.) London, April 28. Some youths smashed all the windows in the suffragette odices in Nottingham as a protest against tho interruptions made at Mr. Acland's meeting.
