MOTOR "HURDLES" AGAIN.

LETTERS TO PETONE COUNCIL. At the meeting of the Pttone Borough Council held last evening, two letters «ore dealt with, each hearing on the question of the "hurdles" for motors erected by the council on the Hutt Road. 'The first Ictlvr contained a complaint from the solicitors of the' Wellington Automobile Club, and it was considered in lommitteo. .The decision was that the council's solicitor (Mr.'Kirk) confer with the ,-olicitjrs of the Automobile Club, in roprct lo the complaint. Mr. George Bradley wrote stating that nn April J">, when one of his employees was bringing n motor-car from Wellington U> his works at Lower Hutt, at a spred of about 10 or 15 miles per hour, and at a place between I'etono station and White',- Line, the car was damaged to tho extent of 1255. It was driven over'one of the crossings put down by the council near Victoria Street, and bumped to such tin extent that tho hood was tossed oft' its carriers, and one of the bows was broken lit consequence he held the council responsible for the damage done. Tho letter was received, and, a motion was passed to the effect that, the council would accept no liability in the matter.
