HARRIERS. The attendance of tho Wellington Harriers at Brooklyn on Saturday was not large. The most noticeabto absentees are undoubtedly the old members of the club. A trail of about nine.miles was laid by Vt. Donaldson and K. Holland, and followed by a pack of fourteen. The trail 3ed from Fulford's Hall , to the foot of Sugar Loaf Hill, and over the hills to . the west of Ilappy Valley. Although the trail'could not be described as an ideal one, the pack, with C. Lamborg as pacemaker,. put in an excellent afternoon's work, and'the few members who conceded n soven' minutes" start to tho main body had their work cut out to catch up with- • in a reasonable time. A run-in of about two hundred and fifty yards was '.roil by T. J. Iverr, jyith Pleasant second and S. Benians third. Next Saturday the club will meetiat Minimal'; at the foot of AVorser Bay Hill, when it is hoped a record muster will be recorded.
Saturday's run of the Brooklyn Harriers Club was from Lyall Bay, thirty-ono members taking part--a record attendance for the' club. Tho trail-layers—P. Oliver and P.. Hnrvey—were responsible for laving a splendid cout-so. -A start was made from the train terminus, along the-beach, and over the sand dunes for half a mile, then up towards (the gasometer, and .round Wonderland. The hares then made off in the direction of. the Seatoun Signal Station, and back , tci the starting-point, covering in all a distance of about seven •miles.' Two packs' r wero' seat' out,-the first being controlled by tho captain, while ■the second was under the supervision jif the deputy-captain, who had a rather difficult task to hold seme of his < won in. A run-in was held over the last few hundred yards, which resulted in a win for L.Baltrop, with J. O'Neill and A. Seagel finishing second and third respectively. Next Saturday the hares will be A.
