CARTERTON. Colour-Sergeant Keid, son of Mr. T. Rcid, of Clareville, who was taken ill at the Oringi camp and removed to the Dannevirke i Hospital, is reported to bo improving. Friday being St. Mark's Day, a special evensong service was held at St. Mark's Church, tho Rev, Mr. R. 11. Hobday, vicar of Brooklyn, preaching. The choir iron St. Matthew's, Masterton, assisted with tho The installation of-tho W.M. and investiture of officers of St. Mark's Carterton, took place on Friday night, whe:i W. Bro. A. N. Burns was placed in tho clmir for tho second term. P.W. Bro. J. Moncrieff, P.P.G.M., was Installing Master,-W. Bfo. Hunn, G. 5.8., being director ot ceremonies. The following officers were' invested:—l.P.M., Bro. T. 11. Hughes; S.W., Bro. A. J. Reynolds; J.W., Bro. H. Hart; treasurer, AV. Bro. J. AT. Lightfoot, P.M.,; secretary,' AV. Bro. A. Phillpotts, P.M.; S.D., Bro. W. Bailiie; J. I)., Bro. I{. Stout; organist, AV. Bro. T. J. liathbone, P.M.; 1.G., Bro. G. S. Phillpotts; Tyler, Bro. J. Stevens; S. Steward, Bro. V. Higgins; Junr. Steward, Bro. T. Caverill. After tho ceremony tho brethren enjoyed tho annual banquet in the refectory of tho lodge. Visitors wero.. present from all parts of the Wairarapa, the Provincial Grand Master, E. AV. Bro. Petcrkin, also attending. OTAKI. At tho annual meeting ot St. Mary's Church, Levin, an opportunity w'as taken to welcome the new vicar (Rev. H. i. Stealey) and Mrs. Stealey. Major Burlinson, in a neat speech, : spoke highly of tho capabilities of Mr._ Stealcy, and sawno reason why tho parish should imt become a model one. Mrs. Stealey has also conib amongst the parishioners with a record of unselfish devotion, and of good work done in the past. Other speakers also extended to Mr. and Mrs. Stealey a warm welcome, after which Mr. Stealey returned thanks for tho many kind expressions. . Major Burlinson has been appointed vicar's churchwarden for St. Mary s Church, Levin, and Mr. IloUlaway people's churchwarden. At Ohau Mr. J. Kebbell' has been chosen as vicar's churchwarden, and Mr. Olsen as people's churchwarden. , , _ A welcome social was accorded the Rev. H. T. and Mrs. Stealey at Ohau on Friday evening, when a pleasant time was spent. Both Mr. and Mrs. Stealcy re-
