MASTERTON NOTES.
(By Telegraph.—SDeoial Correspondent.) Masterton, April 27. Tho Masterton Territorials, fromOringl camp, returned last evening, and speak highly of the conduct of the camp and tho treatment they received throughout. Much interest is being taken in tho School Committee election to lie held tomorrow night. It is stated that tho Bible-in-Schools party and the Labour party each intend .endeavouring to capture seats. John Dunn sustained a fracture of tho arm while playing in a practice football Wtoh yesterday. '. Seven trucks of Hereford cattle, purchased at Mr. G. F. Moore's sale at Ivai Iwi, by Masterton settlers, arrived hero last night. At a meeting of tho Wairarapa Rugby Union on Saturday night, Mr. A. Booth was elected chairman for the ensuing season. Tho proposal of the Featherston and Greytown Clubs- to amalgamate and put one senior team in the field was agreed to. Messrs. M'Renzie and A. Booth wero appointed delegates to tho annual meeting of tho affiliated unions to be held in Wellington on May 3. Other business of a minor oharacter was transacted, and the fixtures for the first round for the different grades were drawn.
