Bryce expressed the hope that tho Panama Canal question ' would not prove to bo tho cause of unfriendliness between Britain and tho United States. 'A certain solution agreeable to both could be reached. Mr. Joseph Choate (formerly United States Ambassador to Great Britain) declared that Mr. Bryce had made all Americans lovo him.
