SUICIDE CALL TO A MOTHER. i London, April 12. A strane® double, tragedy was discovered early yesterday morning at Godalming, when Mrs. L. Wyman-Jcffryes and lier daughter Natalie were found • drowned in a pond in Busbridge Park. Mrs. WymanJelTryes, who had lived for seven years in a house with a large garden on Holloway Hill, a residential district, was tho wife of Mr. H. Wyman-Jcffryes, a professional man of London. She was 'sixty and lier daughter was thirty yeaTs of ago. i .At a few miuutes past four yesterday morning a servant, Annio Barrett, was awakened l>y Mrs. sliaking her and saying, "Annie, Annie, my dangliter has gono out aiijT left a note saying she is going to Busbridge Pond to die and advising me to do tho same. Help me on with lily cloak." Jlrs. Wyman-.Tcffr.yes left tho houso alone. Tho maid went out and told her father,' who informed the police. A search \v a s made, and between G and 7 a.m. tho body of tho.,elder lady was found floating face dowitwarda in deep water in ; tlio pond. Rho bad on. lier gloves and coat, and in her porjeet was a note which said, "I am going to Busbridge Pond to dio. . . You had better do tho same."
Tho daughter's body was found two hours lator, a hundred yards away, beneath the water. Somo kitchen weights Wero attached to a handkerchief found her neck.. Her watch had stopped at eight minutes past four. Her fur boa was ffflid on tho bank. ; Marks on tlio grass seem to show tunf mother and daughter approached tlio pond by different routes, entering the park by different gates. Tho park contains a'large house, the residence of Mr. T. N. Graham, and tho pond in wliieli the women were drowned is an overflow from tho lnko in front of tho house. Tho lake is quito a milo from the house of Mrs. Wyinan-Jflffryss.—'"Daily Mail."
