E. L. Lc Cross applied for reconsideration of application to surrender a portion of Section 2, Block XIII, Kaitieke, as unworkable, and J. P. Barker, the holder of Section 10, Block IX, ICaitieke, adjoining, wrote offering to take it up.— Postponed for report, and valuation. W. H. Heckler attended with refer-; ence to tho proposal to allot Section 5, Block XVI, Mangaone, 298 acres to him without competition.—Resolved to allow ono month wherewith to remove his stock from tho land in question, consideration of the rent to be charged being deferred. It was resolved to rescind the granting of a leaso of Scction 1326, Bunnythorpe, to Mrs. G. Sutherland, and issue it to Wm. Eggleton, her appointee. J. Barry applied for Section 13, Block 11, Hunua, originally in his Section 9, and cut out for a timber reserve to be restored to him.—Postponed for ranger's report. The disposal of milling timber on Section 26, Block V, Karioi, was further considered, and it was resolved to offer the same at public auction at upset price, according to appraisement submitted. 1 The Commissioner advised that tho board could not interfero in the matter of an application of N. H. Benton for tho interest of his partner in Section 17. Block V, Huangarua, to bo forfeited. It was resolved that payment of the broken period of rent on Section 51, Block VII, Mauganui. bo not demanded until the next instalment becomes due on Januarv 1, 1914.

The board approved of. tho amount of X 26 4s. 5d., value for improvements, on Section 2a, Block 11, Hunua, being paid to public account, and tho balance (<£2 10s.) to tho person entitled to receive it. ' The Ilutt County Council and Pcatherston County Council submitted proposals for the expenditure of accrued thirds.— Approved, subject to investigation by tho ranger, and provided the amounts are now nvuilable, i.e., Hult County Council, ,E1 10s. 9d., nnd Fcatherston County Council, JC4S 9s. Bd.

The ranger reported on Section S. Block IX, Ilunu'a, surrendered by J. W. I'nyne. An application for it was made by B. T'. Murray, holder of Section 12 adjoining.— Declined (land to be otTerod for selection under I'art 111 of tho Lund Act) in terms of the ranger's report.

The Otaraia Dairy Company applied for a lease of about three acres of dry riverbed, adjoining tho factory.—Lease granted, five years, at-10s. per annum rental.' It was resolved to recommend, under Section 210, Land Act, 1908, that the proposed transferee of a portion of S.G.R.. Section 18. Blocks 1 and V, Nukumaru, F. O. Matthews, be permitted to acquire the same.

Miss AnnstronK wrote with reference to the forfeiture of Sections !l and 18, Block I, Owhnni'o Township, nSkinß that a transfer bo allowed.—Consideration deferred, pending submission of namo of proposed transferee. Non-compliance with conditions of lenses.—The follow inn selectors had not complied with the conditions of their leases, and it was resolved to take action ns noted under each case: — F. With reference to the permits granted to Messrs. John llenson and C. Osborne to split timber on portion!, of Section .la, Block 11, llunun, it was resolved' to cancel the licenses granted. Messrs. Stephen!; and M'Pherson waited oil the board, nnd asked to Ire allowed to purchase the timber.—Request to bo granted on payment of royalty. H. E, Thorby applied for a longer term of lease of part Section 78, Mnnunui V.S., than a .year-to-year tenancy.—Tenancy to bo determined, ami land to bo offered at public auction. With reference to R. Edgar's appliea.tion for license to cut and remove flax oil tho Waimarino Plains, on the west sitlo of tho railway north and south of Erua railway station, it was resolved to approvo over such an area as may lie defined for his use by tho Commissioner, at a royalty of ss. per ton of green flax, payable quarterly on output, the term of license to be two years. Tho Commissioner, having reported that tho under-noted sections, although open for selection since September 25, 1912, had failed to find a purchaser, it was resolved to recommend exemption from rents and rates for four years—Section 2, Block XII, Whirinaki, 611 acres; and Section 7, Block VIII, Whirinaki, 1224 acres. It was resolved to approve of £30, received for improvements on Section 41, Block V, Karioi, being paid over to the person entitled to receive this amount.

Reconsideration of R. H. Hadloy's renewed application to have part Scction 0, Block VIII, Whirinaki, added to his holding (Section 8, Black VIII, Whirinaki) was postponed. It was resolved to rescind tlio board's resolution of August, 1909, with reference to withholding Sections 11, 214 acres, and 19, 220 acres, Block XV, Manganui, for improved farm purposes, and to re-offer them under I'art 111 of the Land Act, 1908, at iirices to bo fixed by tho Commissioner.

It was resolved to approve of tho present licensees of Section 5, Block IV, Maungakaretu (Messrs. J. T. and P. A. Quin) being granted a lease to occupy Section 5, Block IV (Maungakaretu, 38a. 3r. 30p., as a site for a sawmill for a period of twenty-one years from July 1, 1913, at a rental of 10s. per acre por annum, under Section 311 of the Land Act, 1908, subject to such Conditions as the Commissioner may. see fit to impose. 11. Wood was granted permission to acquire a slaughter-houso site on Section 29, Block X. Hunua, of an area of 15 acres, for a term of seven years, under Section 307, Land Act, 1908, subject to approval by the Stock Department, and at a rental to be approved by tho Commissioner. Messrs. Quinn Bros, applied either for a bettor tenure of Section 8, Block IV, Maungakaretu, la. Or. 2Gp., or that it be included in the longer lease applied for of their sawmill site, Section 5, Block IV, Maungakaretu.—To be incorporated in the license of Section 5.

Messrs. Reid, Rcid and M'Kay, 0.R.P., licensees of Sections 5, 5a., Block VI., Knitieke, renewed their application for Section 2a, Block VI, which acijo'xns.— Previous decision of the Board adhered to. • .

, Tho Owliango School Committee applied for an area of three to five acres for at .horse-paddock for the school children.— Commissioner empowered to set aside such area as ho thinks fit.

M'Donell, consideration of whioh was postponed from last meeting, a statement' of improvements effected on Section 13, Block 111, Ivaitieke, held in "conjunction with above section,' was submitted.—Resolved to approve of transfer of Section 13-to H. I). M Gregor. V "••• With refcrenco to the appeal of J. H. Carrington, junr., against the forfeiture of Section 2, Block 111, Knkahi Township,' the Board resolved to adhere to its previous decision.

Tho Trustees of the Southern Cross Lodge, mortgagees of Section 106, Korokoro V.S.. wroto that tho lessee had not complied with covenants of mortgage, and had left the Dominion.—They applied for permission to arrange to havo the property occupied.—Agreed to.. ,

The Commissioners submitted a plan of twenty-four sections, subdivision of Mangatainoka la, No. 1 East and West Blocks, in Blocks 111 nnd IV, Mangaliao S.D., together with proposed prices of the sections.—Land in question to be offered at the optional tenures of the Land Act, 1908, at prices submitted on plan, and in areas of from 48J to 156 acres.

Mr. 11. Stanton made a personal application to the Board for Section 22a, Block TI, Tiffin (0 acres), Carrington Settlement,, to bo added to his holding (Section 22, 043 acres).—Left in tho hands of tho Commissioner.
