Mrs. Despard, a well-known militant Suffragette, and threo other Suffragettes have been arrested for conducting a meeting in Trafalgar Square. (Rec. April 24, 10.45 p.m.) London, April 21. Lillian- Forrester was sentenced to threo months' and Evelyn Manesta to a month's imprisonment for damaging pictures in tho Manchester Art Gallery. They had smashed tho glass of thirteen pictures in the Gallery, and also damaged with a hammer G. F. Watts's painting, "Evening Prayer." i Tho women were unable to find sureties of the peace, and were ordered to bo kept in prison for a further period of six and four months respectively. Tho Judge said that if the law allowed it he would send them round the world in a sailing ship. A BOGUS BOMB. '' London, April 23. A faked bomb, with the words, "Votes for Women," on it, was found in a Cardiff picture palace, and much alarm was caused.
