JOHNSONVILLE TOWN BAND.
Th'e newly-riorganised Johtsonville Brass Band made its first appeaiance in public on Wednesday night at a social gathering in the local- Parish Hall. Prior to attending the social , the strejts were paraded? and music played by the twenty members comprising the band. ' During the supper interval, tie chairman of the Johnsonville Towr Board (Mr. F. T. Moore) congratulated the bandmaster on the progress made, ind said the local authority was willing; to help financially in the purchase of instruments, provided that the instruments were branded and vested in tho control of the Town Board. He said that ntw-a-days communities regarded music as in essential part of the social life of thi people, and that it was proper to help ind support the maintenance of town baiids. Tho social was largely attended, and tho instrumental music much appreciated, as also were songs by Messrs. Patheart and Pickering, and Miss Stcwait. Mr. Leu. Picken presided at the piaijo. .
