CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOUR.

ANNUAL CONVENTION

Tho nineteenth annua] convention of the Wellington Provincial Christian Endeavour Union, which opened ou:Tuesdny last, was continued on Wednesday, wlncn was "Juniors' Day." In tile alternoon about two hundred children and friends assembled in tho church for the consecration service and roll call, when the Rev. G. S.. Cook delivered an interesting address. Then camo the 'annual tea-meet-ing, which was very well attended, tho schoolroom being crowded to the'doors.

In the evening a junior deiuotstration was held, tho following societies contributing items:—Kent, Terrace Presbyterian (recitation, solo, and chorus), Webb Street Methodist (song by Miss : Gladys Curry and a recitation by Master Eddie Tonics), Berhampore Baptist (two'demonstrations), Vivian Street Baptist (recitation), Constablo Street Congregational (song by Mr. Evans), Brooklyn Presbyterian (solo and duet), Brooklyn Baptist (recitation by Miss Clarice Stoekbridge), and St. James's. Perhaps the most appreciable item was the demonstration by the Taranaki Street Methodist Society, entitled "Gospel Lights," in wTiicli about twenty children (representing Ibe different nations) took part, under the. supervision of Miss D. Calvert. The chairman (Rev. W. S. Potter) also delivered'an encouraging address to the young people. ANNUAL REPORT. At the business meeting, held last evening, the. annual report was read and adopted, and officers elected for tie ensuing year. Tho report stated that during the year one, senior society withdrew, and three others, representing a roll of--113 members, disbanded—in two _cascs, due to insufficient attendance, wailo in the third case tho society was merged with a guild having kindred claims. One junior socicty of 34 members was affiliated, leaving the strength of tho union about the same as at the commencement of the year, when there were fifteen senior societies, two intermediate societies, and eighteen junior societies affiliated. Complimentary references wore made in the report to the woTk of the various societies, tho Seamen's Committee especially having done excellent work. The officers for the ensuing year arc:— President, Mr. S. Mndge; vice-presi-dents, the Rev. W. A. Evans and Mr. M'Kay; secretary, Mr. L. J. Brabinj treasurer, Mr. H. J. Hardie; bole-out committee, Miss D. Gedge; quiel hour, Sister Elizabeth; seamen's committee, Mr. D. -M'Callum.

After -the business- meeting the officers were inducted, tho consecration service being conducted by the Rev. P. J. Cossuiu, while the Rev. J. K. Elliott conducted the communion service.
