KINEMATOGRAPH IN SCHOOLS
LETTER TO A BOARD. (By Telegraph—Special Correspondent) Christchurch, April 23. At 'this morning's meeting of tho North Canterbury Education Board, a letter was read from Mr. W. Devenish Mcars, of Christchurch, containing a cutting from the London "Daily Telegraph" of February 2G, with regard to tho use of the kliiematograph in schools. Tho writer offered to forward to tho board any information which he might gather upon the subject while away ironi New Zealand. Jlr. C. A. C.'Hardy moved ithat tho letter should be received, and Hint ifr. Mears bo thanked. It was only of late years that the enormous value in education of tho hands and eyes had been realised. . Jlr. Grigs said 'that he believed such aids would bo well worth while. Tho scliemo was in forco in Toronto, and he had read of a machine which was in use there, its sptcial virtue being that it could throw upon a screen pictures from any book. . Tile motion was adopted.
