ENGLISH CAPITAL IN AUSTRALIA,
A DECREASE, By Teleeraoli—Press AssoclMion-CopyrluM i (Rec. April 23, '0.30 a.m.) Sydney, 'April 22. Giving evidence before tho Empire Trade Commission Mr. I!. L. Nnsh, a prominent financial expert, staled that English capital invested in Australia had decreased from .£387,000,000 in 1002 to ,£'370,000,000 in 1912. A largo number of English companies which did big business in the 'eighties were practically wiped out after the 1893 collapse. Prom that date capital had been flowing back to tho Old Country, investors finding that because of local competition they could, not profitably employ their capital.
