THE MATERNITY BONUS.
ARRESTS FOR CONSPIRING TO DEFRAUD INVESTIGATIONS ORDERED. (Eec. April 22, 0.10 p.m.) Melbourne, April 22. Following the arrest of two women, Dr. Erson lias been arrested on a. charge of conspiring with those women to defraud tho Commonwealth of money payable under the Maternity Allowance Act. From investigations mado by the Crown Law Department, it is understood that sensational developments are probable in connection with allegedly falso bonus claims in tho various' States. Tho Government has issued a circular instructing tho police to re-cxamino many of the claims. '
