COMMERCIAL MOTOR-VEHICLE EXHIBITION.

The future has arrived, so to speak, in the motor-car industry. Its history differs .curiously from 'that of tho railway; Tho steam locomo'tivo 'wa3 applied to industrial work from its very imperfect beginnings. Tho motor-car commenced as a vcrv uncertain luxury, and has only latterly discovered its complete usefulness. The application of the motorcarrier to the movement of natural produce and manufactured goods in bulk, to tradesmen's retail deliveries, to mail wagons, fire engines, and tho whole mechanism of distribution and outdoor transit, means a thorough-going revolution in many ways. Tho world at large is waking up to the vast possibilities of motor traction, and there is no industry that is not vitally affected. Tho International Exhibition to bo held at Olympia, London, during July of this year comes just at t he blossoming time of this great new industry, which will be just as important to the world's welfare and advancement as tho establishment of railways in tho last century. It is certain that the next generation will see vnster and moro rapid commercial than tho last. Tho purpose of tho exhibition is to bring together the many types of vehicle now constructed uiidcr the heading of commercial motors. It will be one of tho most significant exhibitions ever held at Olympia. It will comprise motor-lorries, vans, charabancs, omnibuses, taxi-cabs, agrin cultural motors and tractors, motor fire engines, ambulances, dust and water-carts —in fact, every conceivable . variety of motor vehicle for light and heavy haulage, for cv.ery commercial, municipal,' and agricultural purpose.'
