MANAROA'S POSITION.
CHA.N'C'E OF SALVING SMALL, Messrs'. Johnston and Co,, agents for tlio wrecked steamer Manuroa, received a telegram from Captain Gilbertson yesterday staling that tho vessel's position was unchanged, and (hero-appears little likelihood of her being saved. As far as the cargo is concerncd nothing definite is ns yet to hand. Captain Gilbertson, who was in choi'RO of the vessel, wilt arrive hero by tho Nikau this morning. Mr. Walter Lloyds, survejor at Wellington, left last evening by tho Awaroii to view the vessel and locality. ]l: is probable that on his return tho customary inquiry will bo bosun. Tlio running of tlm Manaroa is to be. taken up by the Blenheim, which leaves port for Havelock and Pelorus Sound tomorrow. Tlio bags of mails reported (o have been saved were brought to Wellington by the 'lainui on Saturday, and when examined were found to bo damaged by water. Tho letters wero at oneo put through a drying process, and then forwarded to their respeeti re destinations.
