The annual report of the council of the Foilding Acclimatisation Association says that while the results for tho past season from an angler's point of view cannot have been said to be altogether satisfactory. it is generally admitted that the fry recently liberated have been, and arc, doing well, and that good results will accrue from the enterprise. The greatest enemy to cope willi in the conservation -of tho fWh is. without doubt, the shag, and it is a strong recommendation, to th-3 incoming council to deal effectively with the evil. There were a few licenses issued for shooting, but it is a matter cf regret that gamo is so scarce. Pheasants have practically ceased to exist and quail do not flourish as they should. An infusion of new blood has been recommended, and it is hoped that some birds can be obtained from elsewhere, and the experiment tried. The Apiti branch of the association continues to thrive.,and the local executive are very thorough in thfir zeal and loyalty to tho society. More revenue may be expected from this source in tho near tuture.
