In tho Reichstag, Dr. Licbkneeht, Socialist, stated that Krupp's and the manufacturers of Mauser rifles had resorted to illicit methods by, inducing leading organs of tho French press to create an antiGerman sentiment with tlio object of facilitating an increaso in German armaments. He also accused ' Krupp's of secretly corrupting tho officers and officials of tho Prussian War Oflico so as to secure early information regarding contracts, nnd an insight into tho offers of. competing firms.
Dr. Liebkneeht stated that several persons in prominent positions should bo arrested.
Tho Minister for War replied that Dr. Liobknecht's statements wero a grave exaggeration. Tho matter was being investigated. He admitted that one of Krupp's officials had bribed sergeants and others to discloso information, but it was still uncertain whether tho directors were involved. The Minister begged the Houso to reserve its judgment.
