BROKEN HILL STRIKE. WORK TO BE RESUMED AT ONCE. By Telegraph Association—Copyright Sydney, April 19. _ A settlement of the Broken Hill strike is apparently in sight. Tho parties are conferring. An official telegram has been recoived from, tho South Australian Railway Commissioners. It states that .tho Labour Federation • has withdrawn its objections to tho exemptions claimed by the Silverton Tramway Company, provided there aro no prosecutions or victimisation. It is expected that the directors will approve, and that the 6triko will be speedily declared off.
(Roc. April 20, 5.5 p.m.) ( Sydney, April 20. Tho Broken Hill striko jias been. settled. An agreement has been signed whereby tho unionists forgo the demand that seven officers of tho company should be enrolled in tho union, provided thero aro no persecutions and no victimisation. Work i"n tho mines will be resumed at once. Tho trains will recommence running tonight. COALFIELDS DISPUTE-NO CHANGE. Sydney, April .19. The position on tho Southern and Northern, coalfields is practically unchanged. Negotiations with a view to a settlement continue. .
