["•':;-'NORTHERN,B.A, CRITICISED. '; (By . Telegraph.—Press .Association.) . '-' " J ;:': Auckland, March 17. It has been apparent for some time past that;, a feeling of dissatisfaction existed among boxers' and-trainers in Auckland concerning the in which the affairs'of thß.Northern'Boxing Association have, been .conducted. 'From statements obtained after the' meeting it'transpired that the proceedings ■were of a lively nature.-' Criticisms of the methods,.'of'the association were freely, indulged iu : and,a course which practically amounted to an ultimatum was decided upon. Some'of the amateurs claimed that their-services .had.been made use of to build up a' good credit balance iwhich had 'bean spent in arranging unprofitable matches with imported men. They also stated that the finances of the association wero' not as 1 : substantial as might be . wished, and"; Contended that, if matters wero allowed to continue as they had been ■little, or nothing'would bo dona for local box-srs. Specifio cases-were stated, in which alleged' injustices had been done to amateurs, and strong claims we're made for 'association 'reform. ■ Another sore point with those present was- tho fact that the voting privileges of the association wero confined to, • fifty standing-members, while the many other boxers and followers who paid their guinea subscription each year, were allowed no voice in-the control of its affairs. A' wider franchise was advocated. Eventually it was unanimously decided to form a body to be called the: Auckland Boxers' and Trainers' Association, whoso objects woukl be to ,watch the welfare of those interested in the snort. A committee of fourteen was elected .with a sub-committee of five to draw up rules and regulations for submission to a meet-' ing later on.. A; deputation was appointed-to wait upon the committee of. the Northern Boxing Association with a view to suggesting tho reforms indicated, a hope being expressed that .the latter body would see its way to comply before its' annual meetiiia which. is' to be' held towards the end of the present', month. The deputation was requested; to day special emphasis upon the suggested widening of the voting franchise. ' .'i .'.'.•; ( ' - • • .
